Really good stuff, Todd. I’ve always maintained that God can handle my questions, fits of anger, and inability to comprehend God’s “silence” on the big stuff. Thank you for pointing out that one of our very first spiritual forefathers also questioned and bargained with God.
Well said! I often include a line in funeral prayers to say that God is big enough to handle whatever we bring to the space; our grief, our anger and our questions. Abraham pushes back against an idea that prayer is always submission.
We’ve talked about prayer , and this sermon gives me a completely different way of thinking about it…one I had never considered. Are you always this patient with people? Look forward to continued conversations.

Re: arguing with God.
Of course you can, but you will rarely win.
Winning isn't always the point!
I do think God likes to hear from us, regardless of tone!
