Such good stuff, Todd. Thank you. So often, I want to be “healed,” but I do not want to/have the will power to make the necessary changes necessary for said healing. Thanks for framing it this way, for me.

Angie, thanks as always for your comment. You often spur further thought for me. I don't think I have great will power, and often blame myself for that. But I'm learning that willingness can be a starting point. By willingness, I mean that I can set an intention and then set out in faith-a faith that I will be met and accompanied along the way by God's Spirit. Without that hope of accompaniment, my will remains weak. That helps me pick up my mat and walk towards wholeness.

Todd, when I ask myself the questions “how do I grow? And how do I deepen my faith?” one indispensable way is by reading your beautiful prose - the stories and metaphors - and contemplating the lessons within. I’m deeply grateful. 🙏

Remembering this: "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you" Some call that faith and believing by itself may not make it happen. "Faith without works is dead" from the letter of James in the New Testament.
